MS Proteomics 1.0
MALDI-TOF-MS peptide mapping is the most frequently used method for identifying proteins in sequence databases.

The method comprises the following steps:
  • the protein to be identified is digested with a specific protease.
  • the resulting peptides are mass analyzed.
  • the data are then compared with expected values computed from sequence database entries.
  • the results are scored accordingly.
If no significant restrictions can be put on the proteins' molecular weight or a large database is searched, a mass accuracy better than 50 ppm is required for identification! This requirement can only be achieved by using internal calibrants. A disadvantage of internal calibrants is that they affect the detection of the analyte molecules and vice versa due to competition for incorporation into, or adsorption to the matrix crystals as well as competition for charge during MALDI. In addition, analyte signals may overlap with the calibrant signals and thereby ruin the calibration or be excluded from the analysis. The identification strategy used by MS Proteomics enable reliable protein identification without even use internal calibrants!

ReArrange Wizard 1.0
The vast quantities of DNA and protein sequence data generated by the sequencing of the human genome, have assisted improvements in automated laboratory pipetting robots. These robots are used for transferring biochemical material from one microtiterplate to an other. Modern biochemical engineering involves high throughput processes on large numbers of microtiterplates. Any given microtiterplate may have a few hits, many hits, or even no hits. During the development process, it is essential to consolidate the hits from the various source plates into new destination plates to simplify further analysis and development.
ReArrange Wizard calculates the transfer of samples from 96 or 384-well source microtiterplates to 96 or 384-well destination microtiterplates and all required runs, under consideration of available storing positions.
